Hi Glen,
Thanks for getting back to me...
Here is what I tried to submit (just a few items from a short exploratory session):
I played around with this beta on 1/30/19 - trying to generate a simple phylogenetic tree. I am running MacOS 10.14.1 on a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 MacBook Pro 15 inch (circa mid 2015) - 16 GB RAM. I love the new interface - and thank you for writing a dedicated MacOS version. I did encounter a few bugs, so glad this is just the beta - can't wait for the final version - thank you!
1) In the Edit menu, when I tried to "insert sequence from file" in the alignment editor, it closed the dialog and then nothing; I tried again and it worked fine
2) When I try to scroll up and down (or left and right) in the alignment part of the package, it is really slow (much slower than in MEGA7 using Wineskin)
3) In the "sequence data explorer" (when you open a .meg file), a bunch of the buttons at the top no longer have little info tabs explaining what they are when you hover over them
4) Generating a simple NJ tree worked just fine, but when I tried to "compress the selected subtree" and add a label (for the clade), it worked at first but by the third clade it would not let me edit the name and by the fourth it would not even let me close out the popup window. Behavior of this popup was very erratic - would let me edit stuff sometimes but not others
Thanks again,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I am writing in response to the feedback you submitted regarding the
MEGA X software. Thanks for getting in touch with us! It would be great
if you could send the information on the bugs you encountered to me.
Also, I will figure out what is going on with the bug report form.
Thanks for your help! |
