Summary | 0001188: Setting a root makes branch length strange
Description | I was preparing a slide for my lecture, so I wrote a tree file in the newick standard format by usual text editor. I saved it and opened it by the newest MEGA X (10.0.5). To make the tree smart, I tried several times to put the root of the tree. Then the branch length leading to the outgroup (in my case orangutan) got longer and longer.
Steps To Reproduce | (1) Prepare a slingle-line file that contains a tree in the newick tree format as follows: (orang:10,(human:4.5,chimp:4.5):0.5,gorilla:5); (2) Double click the file. (3) Set a root on the longest branch several times.
