I get an error message
The error message is

I have a attached the fasta file with the reads. I hope you can explain what is wrong as I have another file giving the same error.
Selected Align | Edit/Build Alignment from the launch bar.
Select Create a new alignment and then select DNA.
From the Alignment Explorer window, I selected Data | Open | Retrieve sequences from a
file and select the “k1-8.txt” file (attached).
On the Alignment Explorer main menu, I selected Edit | Select All.
On the Alignment Explorer i selected the icon that looks like a flexing arm.
And select Align DNA.

Hi Irene,

I am writing in response to the bug report you submitted regarding the MEGA software. The alignment fails with your data file because the MUSCLE program is not able to allocate enough memory (MUSCLE on Windows is a 32-bit application) to complete the analysis. To get around this, you can download and use 64-bit MUSCLE for macOS or Linux. Or you could use something like MAFFT which is designed to align larger data sets.
