Summary0001443: invalid float (commas rather than full stop as decimal points)
DescriptionMEGA 10.05. on a Windows 10 PC. Danish, so decimal points in the system are commas (,) rather than full stops (.).
In the tree viewer I wanted to change the scale. Clicked the tree formating tool (spanner icon). Got the error message "Oh no! An error has occured: "0,050" is an invalid float

I cannot change the decimal character.

This has since been updated. I am replying to the user with the correct steps so they can import search results.

Emailed user an updated version of the help so that they might finish what they were doing:

Ex 1.2.3: Activate the Web Explorer tab by selecting Web|Query Gene Banks from the menu.
Ex 1.2.4: When the NCBI Entrez site is loaded, enter a search term into the search box, and press the “GO” button.
Ex 1.2.5: When the search results are displayed select which results you wish to import to MEGA by checking the checkbox next to their names. Alternatively, you can not select any to import all of the sequences on the current page.
Ex 1.2.6: Locate the dropdown labeled Display (located near the top and bottom of the page directly under the search type), change it’s value to FASTA. The page will reload with all the search results in a FASTA format.
Ex 1.2.7: Locate the Send To dropdown which is located to the right of the Display box, change the value to Text. This will output all the sequences you selected as a text in the FASTA format. Press the “Add to Alignment” button located to the left of the address box in MEGA. This will Import the sequences into the Alignment Explorer.
Ex 1.2.8: Align the fetched data using the steps detailed in Ex 1.1.2 – Ex 1.1.5.
You may also open a trace file in the Trace Data Viewer/Editor and send it directly to the Alignment Explorer.
Ex 1.2.9: And you’re done.
