0000192: PC specs ??
Hi Mega Software,

I have an end user in my department who wants to run the MEGA software on a PC and has asked me if I have any extra PCs available. I have a pretty nice Dell with a 2nd generation Core i7 processor. In regards to memory, is this application something that can get memory-bound, specifically would going from 8Gb to 16Gb of RAM make a big difference. I get that in general, more memory is better, just wanted to know if MEGA really benefits a lot from the above.

Thanks,
Eric

Another possible file locking issue related to WinXP fast user switching?

This is a result of file locking. The user tries to open a file while another user has it open.

Hi Eric,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. The amount of memory that MEGA will use depends on the analyses run, settings chosen, and size of the data analyzed. If your end user will be analyzing large data sets then yes, MEGA will benefit from more memory.
