0001922: chromebook
Dear Madam or Sir,
We use MEGA for our Genetics lab course. But due to COVID-19 we are teaching online. We asked our students to download MEGA on their computers but some use chromebook as a computer - is there an online version of MEGA, or is there a way of using it on chromebook?

Thank you for your time,

Zeynep Ozsoy, Ph.D.

Hello Andor Kiss,

I got your bug report about there being no Linux version of MEGA5 in either i386 or AMD64. We do have a Linux version of MEGA4, but the Linux version of MEGA5 Beta is not yet ready for release. Since our Linux version works through wine, it requires more indepth testing and adjustments than our windows version. We are working on both the MacOSX and Linux releases which will be available for download later.

Thanks,
  Nick

Hi Zeynep,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. Sorry, but no, there is not a web-based version of MEGA and therefore there is no way to run it on a Chromebook.
