0002029: file conversion to MEG will not work
Converting a fasta format text file to MEG keeps on giving the same error:
"MEGA has detected two sequences with the same name, but the data does not appear to be proper interleaved format. Check for duplicate names. (in line 67)"

The file has been inspected numerous times, incl with find command, there are no duplicate names. Line 67 is an amino acid sequence string, there are no odd characters.

I have tried to convert this file from a word docx, from a word doc, from a txt file, copied and pasted in "unformatted" etcetcetc. Nothing works. When I split it in two, both sections work, but I cannot seem to convert the whole file as a MEG file, and hence I am stuck. No tree:(

Hi Hanke,

I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted regarding the MEGA software. The error you encounter is because the name G.sulphuraria is used twice in the alignment and duplicate names are not allowed.
