0002736: Proxy connection
I want to use MEGA-X for Windows. With MEGA 5.05 I use the function to BLAST the sequences. But with MEGA-X there is no connection to the internet possible.
Is it possible, to change settings so I can use MEGA-X within our company-proxy?

Best regards,
Anne Grünberg

Hello Toranj,

I am responding to your question regarding inference of ancestral sequences and molecular clock analysis using MEGA. The trees required should be in the Newick format. You can generate a tree from your sequence data in MEGA using the available options (under Phylogeny) and then export it in Newick format. Unfortunately we do not yet have a step by step tutorial for using the ancestral sequence inference and molecular clock test features. Below are links to a couple of resources that may be helpful:

Also, your favorite internet search engine should be able to find information regarding these analyses.

Best regards,

Glen Stecher

Hi Anne,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. No, it is not possible to change settings for MEGA’s web browser. However, you can do BLAST directly from NCBI using your own web browser at https://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Blast.cgi [^]
