0003081: Neighbour Joining tree not computed
Hi, I have been trying to make a Neighbour joining tree, from an aligned file (aligned with ClustalW) and keep getting the following error message:

MEGA has encountered an error and cannot continue with this analysis: Some pairwise distances could not be estimated. For example, between sequences 38 and 26

I have managed to make a maximum likelihood tree but not a minimum evolution tree.

Do you have any advice on how to fix this?
Import file and generate Neighbour joining tree with default parameters

Hi Ricarda,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. Distance-based methods require common sites for pairwise comparisons but some sequence pairs in your data have none. If you want to use distance-based methods with that data, you will need to remove sequences that have not common sites with other sequences.
