Summary0003704: help interpreting selection test - conflicting info
DescriptionI ran a z-test codon test and the results: P "values", 0.00165, 1.000, and 0.0005, for Neutrality, Positive Selection, and Purifying Selection, respectively. The caption of the test says: "The probability of rejecting the null hypothesis of strict-neutrality (dN = dS) (Prob column)". I understand p-value, as the probability of observing a x value higher than the observed given a null hypothesis.
Hope you can help me understand this.

Hello Jutta,
I am responding to your feature request for bootstrap analysis of phylogenies in MEGA5. This capability is available for all phylogeny inference methods. To perform bootstrap analysis, first select the desired tree making method under the phylogeny menu. Then, on the analysis preferences menu, select ‘bootstrap’ under the test of phylogeny item. Hope this helps!
