Summary0004175: .mtsx files do not open
DescriptionHello,

I am unable to open .mtsx files that were created with MEGA 11_0_13. I ran a few ML analyses and was able to explore the resulting trees and save them using the default extension. I actually reopened the tree files in the same day and everything worked fine, but now the files do not open. When I select the file using the Open File menu, the program tries to retrieve the tree but shutsdown instead.
I have rebooted the PC, desintalled and installed MEGA 11_0_13, but this did not resolve the issue.
Could you please assist me in this issue? I there anything else that I can do that will no involve repeating my analyses?

Hello Colleen,

I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted to the MEGA bug tracker regarding an error when converting alignment files to the MEGA format using MEGA 5. I think that the error you are encountering may be caused by not saving the converted files with the .meg file extension. To overcome this, when the file save dialog appears with ‘*.meg’ instead of the file name, just replace ‘*’ with whatever filename you want, but keep the ‘.meg’ file extension.
