Summary0004431: Consistent crash when making a tree
DescriptionHello, thank you for providing MEGA software! I am trying to make a tree using Maximum Likelihood, with bootstrap 1000. It crashes every time. There are about 350 sequences. It runs fine without bootstrapping. I am using MEGA 11. Maybe this is not a bug but has something to do with my computer? No one else in my group is running MEGA 11 (they have previous versions). Thank you.

Hi Ralf,

I just tested the MEGA Installer on a Windows 8 machine and it seemed to install correctly. We first need to verify that the download wasn’t corrupted. If you check the size of the download it should be 35mb, if it is any less you likely only got a partial download. To fix this, clear the cache in your browser and re-download MEGA.

Are you a system administrator on your windows 8 computer? Did you try running the install as administrator?

User emailed back and said he has resolved the issue, he probably was confused somehow by Windows 8.
