Summary | 0004574: Adding Tajima-Nei to DNA model test
Description | Hello, I was wondering why there is no Tajima-Nei model in the best DNA model (MEGA X)? As you point out on your website, Tajima-Nei is closer to real-life nucleotide frequencies. But in the best DNA model test we only get these: GeneralTimeReversible; Hasegawa-Kishino-Yano; Tamura-Nei; Tamura 3-p; Kimura 2-p; and J-C. Meanwhile, we still can apply Tajima-Nei model to e.g. building a phylogenetic tree. But we cannot justify the use of Tajima-Nei if it is not given from the best DNA model test.
