0000513: Large input file size
Dear MEGA7,
I want to use mega7 to reconstruct a NJ tree of my subject genomes. I have 476 sequences, with each sequence having 930,000 bases in length. So the total size of my input file is about 450 Mb.

You know, when I used the MEGA-GUI version, I got the error information "The file you are trying to open is too large for MEGAs text editor to handle."

So I tried the CC-version instead, but it said "Error: Line Too Long (in line 4)".

Thus, except for reducing my file size, how can I do now?

Hi Qing,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. What format is you alignment file in? With most formats, you add line endings (typically every 80 characters) to your sequences so that they are distributed over multiple lines and lines are not very long.
