0000520: Virustotal report: is this a false positive?
In evaluating Mega-GUI MS Windows version, Virustotal (www.virustotal.com) listed two sites that reported malware and adware in the downloaded copy of Mega-GUI. TrendMicro Housecall reported Suspicious_GEN.F47V0720, and Panda reported PUP/DownloadAssistant. Are these false positives? My test system OS is Ubuntu 16.04, which is not a guarantee that Windows viruses are not present.

Dear Paul
Thank you for submitting the bug report. It is possible that you have two zero-length branchs which are collapsed in PAUP by default, which will produce 9 times the topologies in MEGA (3x3), because MEGA does not collapse potential polytomies. In this case, the majority rule consensus trees from MEGA and PAUP must be the same. Please let me know if this is the case.

Hi Timothy,

I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted regarding the MEGA software. The reports you received are false-positives as MEGA does not contain any malware or adware.
