Summary | 0001449: Questions about product for systematic review
Description | To whom it may concern, I am a researcher at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I'm conducting a research project looking to better understand the electronic tools being used for data collection, management and analysis during outbreaks in low and middle income countries. MEGA was one of the tools identified. Could you tell me where data used in MEGA are stored - locally only or also on the cloud? Is there any data encryption functionalities and are there any APIs?Best,Patrick

Hi Patrick, I am writing in response to your questions regarding the MEGA software. MEGA is a desktop application and users of MEGA store their data locally. The only exception is that for the mutation diagnosis tools, data is retrieved from a publicly facing web server via that server's API. There are no encryption functionalities in MEGA as the data retrieved by MEGA is in the public domain and is accessed anonymously. -- Best regards, Glen Stecher Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine igem.temple.edu |
