I was unable to verify this bug. I asked the user if he could supply his data file.

This actually seems to be a problem with the file output writer as opposed to the internal variability determination routines. This only affects the format of the output file, variability calculations are still accurate.

Hi William,

I am writing in response to your question regarding how to specify groups in MEGA. Groups should be specified in the MEGA formatted (.meg) input data file. This can be done manually or by using the GUI version of MEGA by opening your data file, using the Taxa/Groups dialog, and saving to a .meg file. An example of how groups are defined in the .meg file is attached (e.g. appending _{African} to a taxon name)
