Summary0002364: Question - Usage
DescriptionHello,

I have a question regarding the usage of MEGA software. If this is being used for analysis of confidential sequences, do these get reported or saved anywhere this program is run locally? My company works with other collaborators that require security and confidentiality of data and sequences.

Thanks,

Hello Sara,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. MEGA does not automatically save sequence data or report it in any way. MEGA will prompt users to save results, such as constructed phylogenies or edited alignments but those results are only saved if users choose to do so and are saved in files defined by the user.
