| Summary | 0003503: compatibility problem with m1 processor? |
| Description | Hello,
I just downloaded the latest software (Mega 11) on my new MacBook Air (macOs 11.5.2.; BisSur) and the program was constantly quitting unexpectedly when I wanted to open files for alignments or when the alignment just started.
I thus decided to deinstall this version und to use Mega-X instead, which runs more smoothly, but very slow.
With my old iMac (macOS 10.x.x.) the buildup of phylogenetic trees is much faster, although both have the same RAM of about 16GB. While my "old" iMac needs approximately 2-3min per bootstrap, my new Mac with an M1 processor needs 30min. Both have Mega-X installed.
Is it a matter of the the system itself or rather a question of processor compatibility? |
