Summary0001638: BlastN problem
DescriptionHello, I used Mega7 for a long time, but now I am unable to use BlastN in Mega7 browser. I can open Mega7 browser and add sequence, but nothing happens after I hit the BLAST button. I tried MegaX instead, BlastN works fine there, but MegaX often stops working and it is missing lot of small but usefull functions. E.g. I can't search (Ctrl+F) the result page of BlastN for a particular sequence, I can't select part of sequence with dragging of mouse in Alignment Explorer, selecting whole sequence doesn't show the lenght of the whole sequence in Alignment Explorer like it was in Mega7 and it is also problem to navigate between opened windows (if more trace files are opened in Trace Editor) because no preview of active windows is available in MegaX after hovering the mouse upon taskbar icon (Mega7 shows preview of all active windows after hovering).. MegaX doesn't fit me, so I want to ask for help with Mega7.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Jana,

I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted regarding the MEGA7 software. Unfortunately MEGA7 is no longer in development so the web browser cannot be updated to accommodate changes to the NCBI BLAST web site. As a workaround, you can simply access the BLAST web site through your own web browser and export BLAST results to a FASTA file which can then be opened in MEGA7.
