Summary0001823: No data displayed in Alignment Explorer
DescriptionWhen trying to open saved Alignment sessions (.mas) or try to retrieve sequences from a fasta file in MEGA X GUI on Ubuntu 16.04, the Alignment data are not displayed in the Alignment Explorer. You only get a blank screen. How ever the data are there, so you can manipulate it (without seeing it) and the blindly made changes can be saved.

Sometimes -not always- you get an error message: "Failed to initialize Chromium. An operating system call failed"

 Hello David Catcheside,
 
  The MEGA "Add to Alignment" button still works with blastn, though as ncbi updates their pages, the procedure to import data might change. As long as you can see the entire sequence on the webpage, MEGA should be able to see it too and import it. I made a quick 1 minute video of the entire procedure, from beginning the blast to importing the sequences http://www.megasoftware.net/vids/Import_blast_n_results.avi [^] its 24MB so it may take a little while to load depending on your connection.
