0001907: sequence deletion or trimming can not be done

Description

I have fasta files as well as .meg files which I used to construct phylogenetic trees.Recently i have aligned sequences but i was not able to delete the flanking regions.I was selecting the sites but the delete option was not ready for work.
Similarly when i was trying to delete some sequences from the aligned file,the delete option in the dropdown menu was not active.

NB-I am mega user 2 yearslong time,this problem has recently ooccured.

Steps To Reproduce

align--retrieve sequence from file---.fas/.meg file was selected and opened--the sequences were arranged ---some sequences was selected--edit menu/right clicking on the selected portion--drodown menu came with many options like cut,copy,edit sequence name etc--but only copy option was active,all other options were not working

align--retrieve sequence from file---.fas file was selected and opened--the sequences were arranged--aligned using clustal w or muscle- from right hand and left hand sides, hanging sequences were selected --- edit option opened /or right clicked on the selected part ---drodown menu came with many options like cut,copy,edit sequence name etc--but only copy option was active,all other options were not working.
NB-i am mega user 2 yearslong time,this problem has recently ooccured.
