| Summary | 0002242: Software crashes when adding sequences from file |
| Description | Hi MEGA,
I've been trying to build a phylogeny based on a number of species of interest but have been running into an issue where the software keeps crashing. I'm running Mac OS X 10.15.6 and MEGA software version 10.1.8 that I installed a few days ago.
The issue seems to happen when I add too many sequences to a new alignment; if I only have 4-5 sequences the program seems ok but when I try to add more than that it simply shuts down without displaying an error message.

| Steps To Reproduce | Align > Edit/Build Alignment
Create a new alignment -> DNA
Edit > Insert Sequence From File
Select 6 fasta files from folder, click "open"
App shuts down (no error message) |
| Additional Information | The files I am selecting to generate the alignment are fasta files downloaded from gene pages in NCBI and together occupy 78KB of space. Example of one of the sequences: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/AJ272181.1 [^]
Fasta files were downloaded from the "send to" option at the top of the NCBI gene page |
