| Summary | 0002260: pBLAST alignment takes over 40 minutes or crashes |
| Description | I'm trying to import the results of a pBLAST search into the alignment tool. The file size is 3 kb and it is in fasta format. If I try to pBLAST search directly from MEGA, the program crashes as soon as I press the add to alignment button. I have tried this on multiple computers at my institution--both PC and Mac--and I get the same result. If I try to import the results of a pBLAST search (mentioned above) the progress bar does not move/ update for over 40 minutes. Is this a normal wait time to read the sequence? I've attached a screenshot of the progress bar below. |
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. go to the alignment tool
2. do a blast search
3. enter the amino acid sequence into pblast and blast
4. filter results (I have six sequences)
5. add alignment (the program crashes here)
For the second issue (long wait time):
1. go to alignment tool
2. select build new alignment
3. select protein
4. import data downloaded from pblast in fasta format |
