Summary0000288: Regarding copying sequences to build an alignment
DescriptionHi, I am not able to copy fasta formatted sequences in MEGA, to build a new alignment.

Earlier, I was able to do this, and I have been using MEGA for 7 years now. I have always built a multiple sequence alignment by copying sequences from a text file to MEGA and then aligning those sequences using muscle. However, for about a month, I am unable to copy sequences to MEGA.

Please help.

It is already available in alignment explorer as \"export\" in Data menu.

Hi Gunjan,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. If you are unable to copy/paste sequences in MEGA's Alignment Explorer you should check that Edit->Allow Base Editing is checked. If that does not resolve the issue, you can always save the data in a text file with .fas extension and then open the text file.
