Summary | 0003296: Having blue lines on Tree, unable to take them off
Description | I was editing some taxa names on the tree yesterday for printing by doubleclicking the taxon name and then editing the text. This went ok. Now when I open any tree in Mega, I have the same blue lines I edited yesterday. I am able to write something to them and then take the text away, but not to hide the blue lines. Even tried to uninstall the program and install it again, but the blue lines are still there. I am desperate. I need to show something for 30 people a week from now, and this is totally horrible looking.

Hello Tobias, I am responding to the question you submitted to the MEGA bug tracker regarding bootstrap consensus trees. The bootstrap consensus tree is a consensus tree derived from all of the trees inferred during the bootstrap process (it is an average of many bootstrap trees). This tree might be more reliable than the original inferred tree but there is no proof. For an explanation, see “Felsenstein, Joseph. Confidence Limits on Phylogenies: An approach Using the Bootstrap (1985)”. Best regards, Glen Stecher |
