Summary | 0000424: Allow base editting disabled |
Description | Hello,
I just installed MEGA 7 which I learned was a free tool that can be used by students for practise with phylogenetic alignments.
I have to delete stop codons in my sequences but it would be easiest if I could just delete the "*" symbol in the translated protein sequences. I cannot do anything but add dashes in the protein sequence tab. I also cannot seem to select multiple proteins or "*" symbols unless they are directly above or next to the first symbol I select - which is incredibly frustrating.
Why is the "allow base editing" disabled? I also tried older versions of MEGA and it is still disabled for me...I have so many sequences that there is no way I can scan through them all selecting stop codons individually, switching back to nucleotide sequences, and then deleting it from there. Please help!
Thank you! |
