Summary | 0006722: 'Invalid float' error and decimal separator |
Description | This remains a problem in MEGA12.
Notice that it is not '0.50' in the example supplied. I believe this is just one of the many consequences of what appears to be an erratic way of MEGA handling the decimal separator, in versions of Windows where the locale setting is a comma instead of a dot.
If MEGA would force the dot independently of the Windows locale setting, it would be an improvement. |
Steps To Reproduce | I save a tree explorer session, and after closing MEGA, when I wish to work again on the saved mtsx file I cannot, with messages like '0,50 is as invalid float' (see attached alert).
The tree explorer sometimes displays a comma in the decimals separator, for example in the substitutions scale, sometimes a dot; Newick exports have the comma generally and I must change them so that they can be imported by softwares that do not recognise it. |
