Summary0000180: Codon Error
DescriptionIn previous version of Mega, Mega 5, if we translate codon in to pep, and choose some of the sequence of pep, and go back to CDS, Mega 5 can correctly find the DNA sequence which is the amino acid which I choose; however, in Mega6 and Mega 7, if I choose the amino acid sequence and go back to see the DNA, there are 2 codon shift, the codon frame is wrong. If you could fix this bug, it will greatly help our work. Thank you very much!

This appears to happen only when I create a new alignment using sequences I pull from GenBank.

It seems to happen when I create a new alignment in general and the sequences for the new alignment can come from any source to reproduce the error.

I found the problem. When MEGA is asked to open up the new file it does not recieve a file path with the .meg extension concatenated on to the file. It only takes the filname as entered by the user and the user is unlikely to add the .met extension.
