Hi Roland,
I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted regarding the MEGA software. Thanks for the feedback. It seems that NCBI has made some changes to their BLAST page that are incompatible with the web browser that MEGA7 uses. This will not be fixed on our end as MEGA7 is no longer actively developed. However, I cannot duplicate the problem when using MEGA X (which is actively developed). When I click the BLAST button, the request proceeds and after some time the BLAST results are displayed (in a new format). Which operating system are you experiencing the problem on? Do you know if you are on a network that is using a proxy server or something else that might interfere with the web request? As a temporary workaround until this issue is fixed, you can do BLAST from your own web browser, export the results to a FASTA file, and then open that file in MEGA.
