Summary | 0000024: "Invalid characters in path"is always showed up with files w/o any banned character
Description | Dear MEGA developers, I have seen this problem since last month (MEGA 6.0). I thought it was a problem with MEGA 6.0 then installed MEGA 7.0 to solve the character recognition problem. However, MEGA 7.0 didn't recognize the file name again. "leptgenbanklist" is the file name that MEGA couldn't open. (using US keyboard) Would you suggest anything what I can do to solve this problem? I'm just writing a paper and this phylogeny analyze is critical. I appreciate your time and kindness. - Kanae

Hi Kanae, I am writing in response to the bug report you recently submitted regarding the MEGA software. It sounds like there are some characters in the file path (not the file name) that MEGA is not able to handle. To test this, try putting the file in your root directory (something like c:\). Then, if you can open the file from there, it indicates that somewhere in the path to where the file was originally located there are characters that MEGA cannot handle. -- Best regards, Glen Stecher |
