| Summary | 0000103: Frameshift in nts composition calculation |
| Description | I use MEGAv6 presently and almost have used any MEGA version fruitfully.
I noticed two things:
1. Calculation of the nucleotide composition of a CODING sequence (f.i. starting with AUG) generated frame-shifted data per codon position; see the attached file, of which the MEGA data has been copied directly from the MEGA output spreadsheet.
2. Frame translation is possible in various MEGA screens. I noticed that in one of the options (cannot remember which) introduction of a single gap just upstream of AUG is needed for proper frame translation.
