Summary0001516: MEGAX failed to display DNA sequences of the .masx file and shut down unexpectedly
DescriptionI previously used MEGA7 in my MacBook pro to edit an .masx file, but since two weeks ago I could no longer open MEGA7 again. When I installed MEGAX and tried to open that alignment file, it always failed to display DNA sequences of the .masx file (but can display translated protein sequences) and shut down unexpectedly.

Would be great if any suggestion can be given to fix this issue. Thank you.

Hi Tsz Chun,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. Unfortunately .masx files are not compatible on macOS between MEGA7 and MEGAX. This is because MEGA7 is a 32-bit application and macOS has dropped support for 32-bit applications altogether (MEGAX for macOS is 64-bit).
