Summary | 0001714: Alignment editing is very slow |
Description | When trying to modify a large alignment (>100 seqs, around 1000 bp long) in MegaX each edit (e.g. gap insertion) takes a lot of time (in the order of few seconds). The same kind of editing (using the same input file) is very fast when using Mega7.
Also: in MegaX the output file of "save file using only highlighted sites (e.g. 4 fold degenerate sites)" actually corresponds to the entire alignment. I have tried using different output formats, changing to "only not highlighted sites" and checking the "3rd-codon only" option, but the results do not change. |
