Summary | 0000294: Multithreading memory leak |
Description | I sent in a bug report yesterday. This is an update. There is a serious memory leak that occurs when generating trees using more than 1 core. The leak is worse if more cores are used. For example, I ran a Maximum Likelihood tree with 1000 bootstraps, on 12 cores, and it got to bootstrap 580 before filling up all my RAM and crashing. When I tried the same tree with 20 cores, it only got to around 300 bootstraps. The problem occurred on both Windows and Linux, and in both the GUI and command line. |
