| Summary | 0003694: No suitable outgroup for MEGA’S RelTime method | ||||||||||||
| Description | I am using the RelTime method to date divergences in the genus Fagus. However, I have had difficulty it requires an outgroup and due the great divergence of Fagus from the rest of Fagaceae there is no genus that is suitable. I have been able to use Quercus and Castanea as an outgroup for the purpose of running the program but sequence divergence between outgroup and ingroup are so great I am not sure the results are accurate. Can I create an artificial outgroup in order to run the program? | ||||||||||||

Hello Nicholas, I am responding to a bug report that you recently submitted regarding a problem with MEGA’s web browser. Can you tell me if the browser crashing or is the search query just not being submitted? I noticed that in the MEGA web browser, pressing the enter button on the keyboard after entering a search term does not submit the query without first gaining the focus of the ‘Search’ button. You should be able to submit your query by either clicking on the ‘Search’ button or pressing you tab button until the Search button is selected and then pressing enter. Best regards, Glen Stecher |

might be fixed in MEGA6 with the updated Chromium browser but have not been able to duplicate this |
