Summary0000608: Duplicate names
DescriptionDoing the phylogenetics analysis with MEGA-CC I obtain the error "Tow seqeucnes with the same name, but data does not appear to be in the proper interleaved format. Check for duplicate naems (in line 8979).

First of all, I do not have line 8979 in my file. I have taken the data and I have checked if there are duplicate names but there are not. Moreover, I did the same analysis but using MEGA, with the same data, and I did not have the error.

I attach the output file of the alignment

How can I solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi Marc,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. Commas are not allowed in sequence names when using the .meg format for alignments. You should replace the sequence name Tg3,2 with something like Tg3_2.
