Summary0000632: MEGA database usage
DescriptionGood afternoon,

We are conducting a software inventory and would like to update our information on MEGA. I have a quick question about MEGA - does MEGA store data in any database(s)? If so, which database(s)? Thank you!

Best,
Jake

\"Dear Andreas:
No rate smothing is done in this case. We follow the simple procedure of Takezaki et al. (
Takezaki N, Rzhetsky A & Nei M (2004) Phylogenetic test of the molecular clock and linearized trees.

Molecular Biology and Evolution 12:823-833.)

Hi Jake,

I am writing in response to your question regarding the MEGA software. No, MEGA does not use any database management systems for storing data. Data and results are stored in documents on the users local file system.
