Summary | 0001901: BLAST search bug |
Description | I am finding that if I change the number of sequences returned in a BLAST search it causes strange behavior, typically some aspect of the BLAST search window freezes. This includes freezing the ability to work with any other field or link on the page or, if the "run BLAST search" button/link works the BLAST search window does not update (Time since submission stays at 0:00:00). Also noticing my hard drive/fan working like a demon while this odd behavior is happening. This bug popped up in a webinar being presented for researchers at the NIH. Very embarrassing! |
Steps To Reproduce | Open a BLAST search browser window
Input a sequence ID (NM_000575 used for demo)
Change number of sequences returned from 100 to 250
If possible, click on "BLAST" button to run the search
Search should run to completion in 0000107:0000020 seconds (standalone web browser BLAST search result) |
