Summary | 0002715: issue with translation code selection
Description | I have Mega X (version 10.1.7) and the software won't let me select from all translation codes available. Just to name one example, we work mainly on trematode parasites which have their own mt translation table. Sadly, I am unable to select this as there are only four options to select from. Previous versions of Mega did not have this issue. Therefore, I used to use Mega 7 but I had to switch to Mega X since I could not reinstal Mega 7 for some strange reason. When I try to add a genetic code to the program and I press the 'add' button nothing happens... It is really frustrating and something that has been bugging me for some time.
Steps To Reproduce | Very simple. Just go to file and select the fast file you want to work with. Then nucleotide sequence. Say that it is coding. And then you have to select a genetic code.

Dear Justus, I’m responding to a bug report you left recently about not the cutoff values not being applied properly when you generated a bootstrap tree. The problem you ran into isn’t really a bug, it’s more of a feature which isn’t clearly explained. If you look at the cutoff value in the tree options, it will indeed say 50%. That is the cutoff value which will be enforced when you turn on the ‘Condensed tree’ option. I can see from your screenshot that the ‘condenced tree’ option is not turned on. Here’s a screenshot of a tree before and after I have turned on the condenced tree option. I will see if we can’t hide this tab from the Tree Options until a user is in condensed mode. Maybe that will make it less confusing. Fig 1. A tree created Fig 2. With condensed tree option activated Daniel Peterson |
