Summary | 0000322: Preparing .mao files for command line
Description | I am a first-time user of MEGA, and I've been trying out the GUI version on Mac OSX, but I would like to be able to run batch jobs on our Linux compute cluster once I've figured out the settings I like in the GUI version. However, I've having trouble seeing how to export a .mao file from the Mac GUI: I don't see a separate program for megaproto on Mac, as the documentation suggests, and I couldn't find an export .mao option in any of the GUI menus. Can you please direct me?

I have identified the bug, i.e., the standard genetic code is always loaded irrespective of the user\'s selection. When the user use the selection menu, the specified code table is introduced. |

Hi Mark, I am writing in response to your question regarding how to generate mao files for MEGA-CC. To do this, you should download the command-line version of MEGA, which also has a prototyper application packaged with it for generating the mao files. -- Best regards, Glen Stecher Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine igem.temple.edu |
