| Description | I need to generate a phylogenetic tree comparing the amino acid sequences between a panel of isolates and determining the number of AA substitutions . I believe I need to generate a maximum parsimony tree for this analysis, however, when I generate the tree in MEGA7 the number of changes are not shown. Could someone please provide assistance or recommend a suitable you tube video or tutorial? Kind regards | ||||||||

Hi Jo, I am writing in response to your recent question regarding the MEGA software. When generating a parsimony tree in MEGA, branch lengths are not automatically calculated. When the tree is shown, you should click View->Topology Only which will cause branch lengths to be calculated.
